Here's a few examples:
In control, you can:
Ride a bicycle
Ride a motorbike
Ride a horse
Ride a scooter
Ride a pogo stick
Drive a car
Drive a bus
Drive a lorry
Drive a train
Drive a mobile crane
As a passenger, you can take a ride or be riding:
in a car
on a bus
on a train
on a scooter
on a motorcycle
You can probably use either if you:
Drive a tractor
Ride a tractor
