In your sentence "fixed" means "prepared". I prepared breakfast for myself.
See definition 6 here: http://www.ldoceonline.com/dictionary/fix_1

The verb "to fix" has different meanings. In your sentence, it means "to prepare" / "to make".
"I fixed myself a breakfast." = "I made a breakfast for myself."
In Hannes' examples, "to fix" means "to repair". Also, notice, he uses "by myself" not "for myself".

I come from Australia and we don't use that term. I'm pretty sure it's an American expression (I've heard it on TV shows lol).
