what does " they take themselves lightly"mean?
"The angels fly," wrote Chesterton, "because they take themselves lightly." Out of love, not out of disrespect, Misia continually kneads the dough and keeps it from hardening. Only strong artists who fear their role as idols benefit from this iconoclast, as she whips life like a top, get¬ting drunk on its hum, and never allowing speed to become stationary.

"To take something lightly" means you don't take it seriously or personally. In your example, it's a play on words. In a literal sense, it can also mean that the angels travel around (take themselves) in a light manner (ie. flight).
