What does "Craning" Mean? Can you give me example?
I was reading this: she spent so much of her time craning over garden fences, spying on the neighbors
So what does " Craning" mean? Any example?

It means to look at something but having to make a physical effort. To look over a fence you might have to stretch your neck.
If you are in a big crowd you might have to crane your neck to see what is at the front.
