Could you explain the meaning of "Rundown" and "It is a given" ?

Rundown can be a few things. It can be 'exhausted' or 'dilapidated', it can be a baseball move and it can be a precis. Usually without the hyphen, it is to 'chase and catch'. Which one would depend on the context.
"It is a given" means that it can be assumed to be true.
