Use of يجب
Would you tell me please how do I use the verb to need in arabic? I think there are two ways, are the sentence I wrote correct?:
يجب علي أن أكتب رسالة - أجب أن أكتب رسالة
I need to write a letter. (do they mean the same?)))
What I guess is that i can use the verb to need (as a common verb), but If I used the verb with the preposition 3ala, the verb should be always in the 3rd person (yajib) and then the prepositions with the pronoun attached. Am I right??
Thanks!!

hi!
1- يجب علي أن أكتب رسالة
2- يـجب أن أكتب رسالة
There difference between the two sentences is little bit like the difference between "Must" and "Should".
the fist sentence is more like an obligation, which you may generally express with "Must", while the 2nd is like a recommendation, which you may express with "Should".
A literal translation of "need" will be " أنا أحتاج إلى " or "أنا في حاجة إلى" . Example: I need help = أحتاج إلى المساعدة
