Professional TeacherShould I say"The book says " or "the book said"?
As a teacher, I often say to my students, "the books says...." , is it correct? or should I say "the book said"?

The reason why so many students' language level is low is that they are taught by such teachers.

Both seem fine to me. If you're just trying to say what's in a book, use "says". If you're talking about a time when you read the book, use "said".
