what is the difference between "obedient" and "submissive"?

If you are obedient you do what you are told, probably used for a child or a dog. Submissive means that you will do what you are told even if it is unreasonable. Or you do not want to make decisions, you want others to tell you what to do. Of course there is a slightly more interesting meaning which you can google...
