Broaden one's horizons OR Expand one's horizons is an IDIOM. It means you gather more experience, knowledge or skills example: 1 - It's a great idea for young people to travel because it can really broaden their horizons. 2 - Larry should go work overseas to expand his horizons. 3 - My son should read a book on often to expand his horizons, instead of playing computer games all day.
