How to use dennoch? What's the difference between dennoch und aber?
I look up the dictionary and know the meanings but i am afraid i need more context, what's more, is it a formal word? I mean like "hence" only appears in some important paperwork. Thank you very much:)

aber = but
dennoch (= trotzdem) = nevertheless, however, still
Ich möchte ein Eis essen. Aber ich habe nicht genug Geld.

"Dennoch" sounds somehow galant. You'll mostly find it in literature. We prefer to say "trotzdem" in everyday speech.
