You normally distinguish between Zustandspassiv ("sein") and Vorgangspassiv ("werden"). Both are Passiv, and both can take different tenses (all 6 of them). As the name says, the Zustandspassiv emphasizes the resultant state, while the Vorgangspassiv emphasizes the action.
Vorgangspassiv Präsens: Die Tür wird geschlossen.
Mental image: You see how the door slowly closes.
Zustandspassiv Präsens: Die Tür ist geschlossen.
Mental image: You see a closed door (it's not relevant that it was closed by someone).
Vorgangspassiv Perfekt: Die Tür ist geschlossen worden.
Vorgangspassiv Imperfekt: Die Tür wurde geschlossen.
Vorgangspassiv Plusquamperfekt: Die Tür war geschlossen worden.
Zustandspassiv Perfekt: Die Tür ist geschlossen gewesen.
Zustandspassiv Imperfekt: Die Tür war geschlossen.
Zustandspassiv Plusquamperfekt: Die Tür war geschlossen gewesen.
Same mental image for each as above, just in the resp. tense.
