How do I say "Oh, sorry to hear that" in Korean
When someone is telling me about something sad that happened to him.

you can say "아 정말 안됐군요" or "아 정말 슬픈일이에요"
or if you want more formal pattern you can say like this "정말 유감입니다." but this is just for politicians or statemen. :-)
