Namaste,
In Hindi it's Mai not Main, Mai is I. For example Mai ladaka hoon. (( I am a boy)
When u pronounce Mai not Main, only a slight sound of " N " is made in nose. Thats why, when u listen or speak, u sometimes pronounce it as Main. In English as u know main is like Chief, very imp. etc.
Maine is Me and I in Hindi. ex. Maine aapko dekha = I saw u. Maine baat chedi = I started a dialogue.
Is it clear to u ?
Pl feel free to contact me for any further clarification.
Shukriya
