What "does" it mean.
When you "bite" something you are using your teeth to cut into something. In order to eat an apple you must "bite" it.
Examples:
Present or Future:
I will bite the apple
I will bite you.
I am biting the apple
Past:
He bit the apple
Why did he bite the apple?
That bad dog bit me
Why did you bite me? It really hurt.
The cat took a bite out of her food.

Statement: At some time in the future it's your intention to bite a person/object.
Examples:
"Let go of me, or i'll bite you!" (a warning).
"If your dog bites me, i'll bite him back!"
