What's the difference between "также", "тоже" and "же"?

Very different. If you are only looking at the spelling, then I'm not surprised that you are asking this question.
также = in the same way
тоже = also
же = has a lot of meanings, it can be an "emphasizer" (especially for sentences that are the opposite of what is expected / said by the other person), or it can also emphasize similarity, or even contrast (which is similar to it being an "emphasizer").

One more method:
1) Тоже, также = too, as well
I love to read. He likes to read too =
= Я люблю читать. Он любит читать тоже.
Or Я люблю читать. Он тоже (также) любит читать.
2) He knows Russian. He also knows English =
= Он знает русский. Также он знает английский.
(can not say "тоже")
3) Так же.
Often "же" can not pronounce.
He knows Russian as well as I do =
= Он знает русский так же (хорошо), как и я (знаю его) = Он знает русский так, как и я = Он знает русский, как и я.
