review -revision
I always use the word revise and revision when I mean : repasar , do exercises on things that we have already studied.
However I heard: review. Is it the American version ?
Can I use either of them?

Revise is more to do with academics. You learn and write and then revise to make it better.
Review on the other hand is like an examination or evaluation. Boss reviewing subordinate's work.
Got it?

I'd say review means more to 'look at agasin' and then probably make changes.
To revise is, as you said, to learn again, in detail, something you have previously studied.
