The audience MIGHT be able to appreciate the work but, then again, might NOT. Por ejemplo: «To reach the narrow audience that might be able to appreciate the work, you could try advertising it on NPR, but even then there are no guarantees.» The meaning is slightly different from, and expresses a little more doubt, than «To reach the narrow audience that would be able to appreciate the work» or «To reach the narrow audience capable of appreciating the work». Hay un modo subjuntivo en inglés, pero creo que es menos importante que en las lenguas romances. Es una sutileza que muchos angloparlantes, mi incluyo, ni entiendo bien ni uso perfectamente.
