生意気を英語で言うと? how do you say 生意気 in English? I don't know how to say 生意気 in English. When I looked up the meaning in a dictionary, it saids 生意気(noun) cheek〈話〉 cockiness face〈話〉 impudence puppyism〈古〉(若者の鼻持ちならない) sass sassyness sauce 生意気な(adjective) assuming bounceable〈英古〉 cheeky〈英話〉 cocky confident cute〈俗〉 feisty flippant fresh impertinent impudent insolent perky porky〈俗〉 presuming saucy smart(人の言動が) smart-aleck smart-alecky smart-arse〈卑〉 smart-ass〈卑〉 snotty-nosed〈話〉 stuck-up wise wise-arse〈卑〉 wise-ass〈卑〉 i don't know which one i should use.... I gave some advises to my Japanese friend(5 years older than me) so I am 生意気... so I wanted to say"I am sorry for being ( ajective/生意気な) or my (noun/生意気)" Could you help me out?

I would probably say "cheeky" or "cocky", depending on the context. If I wanted to be formal and serious, I would say "impudent" whereas if I wanted to be informal and slightly rude I would say "smart-arse". (Bear in mind that I'm from the UK, and American English speakers tend to say "-ass" instead).
