would you please answer it? thank you
what does "assertive" mean?
My Chinese-English dictionary says "assertive" means “武断”.
In Chinese “武断” is not a positive word. If you say someone is "武断的“, you mean he or she is narrow-minded , arbitrary and hard to get on with. It shows your disapproval of him or her.
But in Oxford word skills, I saw a sentence: "but I wonder whether she's got the necessary chairsma, or whether she's assertive enough for this role."
I think in this sentence "assertive" was amerit.
So, what does "assertive" mean? Would you please give me a definition of the word "assertive"
thank you.

Assertive can be positive but it can also be annoying. An assertive person reads six great answers to a question and adds a seventh.
