There are several translations for "to visit" and the two you asked means the same. (Basically, we use 訪問する[ほうもんする]、訪れる but sometimes we say 行く、見学する[けんがくする]、見物する[けんぶつする], and we also have the word お見舞いに行く[おみまいにいく] / 見舞う[みまう] for "visit someone who is sick".) I hope this was helpful.

Sweetie, meaning-wise, there is no difference between them. They are interchangeable, though the former is more formal than the latter!
