Which sentence is correct: I live in a small city in the east of Spain or I live in a small city at the east of Spain? Thank you.

I live in a small city in the east of Spain or you can also say;
The small city which I live, is east of Spain.

"In the East" is correct.
Because "In" is used before all the directions (In the East, In the North, In the South, In the West)
