Wiederkommen/zurückkommen I understand that these verbs may both be translated as "to come back" or "return", can they be used interchangeably or there is a difference to keep in mind?

There's a slight difference, and you can understand it from looking at the primary meanings of "wieder" (again) and "zurück" (back). wiederkommen = to go to the same place, again zurückkommen = to go back to the same place
