/peggiore/ and /migliore/ are adjectives. /peggio/ and /meglio/ are adverbs. Examples: a) La cioccolata ABC e` [la] migliore di tutte. b) E` meglio mangiare una buona bistecca che due barrette di cioccolata. c1) E' meglio A o B ? c2) E' migliore A o B ? (c1) and (c2) are both good d) In citta` e` meglio usare i trasporti pubblici, se funzionano bene. e) I computer di oggi sono molto migliori di quelli degli anni '70, e costano una frazione di quelli. Substituting /meglio/ with /peggio/ and /migliore/ with /peggiore/ will give you other grammatically correct sentences (although the meaning would be questionable). Proverbio: E` meglio [avere] un uovo oggi che una gallina domani. Remember: adverb comes from the latin /ad-verbum/, near a word, but it is better to remember it as : near a verb.

As Andrew said, "migliore" e "peggiore" are adjectives, "meglio" e "peggio" are adverbs. This is the focus! "migliore" e "peggiore" are, respectively, the comparatives of "buono" (good) e "cattivo" (bad) as well... "meglio" e "peggio" are, respectively, the comparatives of "bene" (well) e "male" (badly) Maybe, your confusion come from the fact that in English "better" is the comparative of "good" but also of "well"; "worse" is the comparative of "bad" but also of "badly". Now, if you try to think in English to this terms without grade, you make clear the choice you have to do. "... a better job..." is "... un lavoro migliore..." or "... un lavoro meglio..."? Can you say "... a good job..."? and "... a well job..."? Of course the fist, so "... a better job..." is "... un lavoro migliore..."! "you did it better than..." is "l'hai fatto migliore di..." o "l'hai fatto meglio di..."? Can you say "you did it good"? and "you did it well"? Of course the second, so "you did it better than..." is "l'hai fatto meglio di..."

QUALE e' la differenza tra quando si usa 'migliore' o 'meglio' e anche 'peggiore' o 'peggio'?? MIGLIORE is Best, Meglio is Better; Peggiore is worst and peggio is worse. I think you can use these as in english most of the times. Ciaoooo
