Do the following sentences make sense? "sharpen one's claws on the furniture "
Hi, do the following sentences make sense?
Here are my best efforts.
This is my buddy named Jalapeno who tried to sharpen his claws on the furniture and destroy it. I haven't seen him since yesterday. My friend scolded him and said to him like"XXXXXX". And then, she kicked him out of the house before we had to leave. I hope you weren't angry with me, Jalapeno.:(
Note; I am not sure about this part 'sharpen his claws on the furniture...how would you say it in natural way?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, that's exactly the right phrase, and it all makes sense. I like the name Jalpeno - he sounds like fiery little creature!
