Hoe kan ik van "afpraten" goed gebruikt maken?
Ik ben erover miet zeker.
Afpraten = to convince
I convince you about a topic = Ik praat van je af over een onderwerp
I convince you that something is happening = Ik praat van je af dat iets aan de hand is
I convince you to do something = Ik praat van je af om iets te doen
I'm convinced to do something = Ik praat van mij af om iets te doen

To convince = overtuigen.
I convince you about a topic = Ik overtuig je over een onderwerp
I convince you that something is happening = Ik overtuig/zeg je dat er iets aan de hand is
I convince you to do something = Ik overtuig/zeg je om iets te doen
I'm convinced to do something = Ik ben overtuigd om iets te doen
Like Jolien said: afpraten is to discuss a problem/issue with others.

Mijn Nederlandse vrienden gebruiken dit woord zo: "Onze vriendin wilde maar weer van zich afpraten." Daarmee bedoelen zij dat de vriendin van hen een persoonlijk verhaal wilde vertellen om zich daarna beter te voelen.
