what is the difference between 기대 and 기대하다? seems the same from the dictionary?

기대지말고 is composed of 기대(다)+지+말(다)+고
기대하지말고 is composed of 기대하(다)+지+말(다)+고
기대다 means "lean on , depend (up)on"
기대하다 means "expect , anticipate"
기대 means "expectation , anticipation"
기대지말고 means "don't lean on something"
기대하지말고 means "don't expect something"
