the phrase "so to speak"
Jibo as a robot is something that can move, with cameras that can move and see you and interact with you like a living thing, so to speak.
What is "so to speak"? And how to use it?

Here it means that 'see' and 'interact like a living thing' are simply expressions. Obviously the robot is not REALLY seeing and interacting like a living thing.
