what is the french equivalent of "came under fire" as defined by being heavily criticized?
hi.
I'm obliged to take a translation course [from English to French] and I’m having a really hard time. French is not my native language, and while I can speak it fluently, there is just a wealth of expressions and cultural subtleties I have not been acquainted with.
any help is welcome
