It's a flower that grows near walls. And it's also a girl who goes to a party and spends all evening standing by the wall because nobody asks her to dance! :(

I agree with the above answer. A flower on a wall is pretty but does not partake of the party. A person who acts like a wall flower may be an attractive person but is too shy to engage socially with people toward the center of the room.
