about 'Take down'
What does it mean "Take down" and "Take him down", is the same thing, as "shut him down" that means "to stop someone or stop him". And another thing, "You're not the one to bring me down" means to destroy me in this particular context, right?

Hi there Vivien. To take down means to humiliate & often people say 'He needs to be taken down a peg or two, meaning the person is arrogant & needs to learn some humility. Take him down = to destroy or kill. It was a saying used by cowboys in old western movies & action films. The last sentence means to make unhappy or to fall in status in the eyes of someone.
