What is the difference between 去 and 出? They both mean "go"? Would like to see the difference in context. Thanks.**** ADDED***** Thanks guys. I shan't pick a favorite, as it is a close match, but I think there is enough to clarify them in my head.

From their origin meanings, both can means " go to somewhere". But "出“ tend to emphasis more on going from inside(or your place) to outside. eg, when you say“ 去看电视,去上学,去买东西,去国外,去旅游...”,it means you can be anyplaces and go to do those things. But when you say" 出国, 出差, 出门”,it means those actions are starting from your places( country, company, home..) to somewhere.

“去” = go to somewhere (usually a specific place). "出" = leave somewhere(usually a set phrase) for example: “去公园“ = go to the park, "公园" = park “出家” = become a monk or nun ”家“ = home
