I'd like to add another simple example. "Ka" (か) also means "Or".
Example:
あなたはサッカーか野球がすきですか?(anatawa sakkaa ka yakyuu ga suki desuka?)
Do you like soccer or baseball?

or means または or それとも or もしくは in japanese.
here is an example.
あなたは soccer が すきですか。 それとも、 baseball が すきですか?
in english do you like soccer or baseball?
