I was dazzled by the sunlight. is better

Either one. If it was the sun itself I was impressed by (it's spot in the sky, it's heat, etc.) I would go with the first sentence. If I found myself amazed by the quality of the light itself (how it affects my surroundings) then I'd go with the second sentence!
