Japanese verb shinu しぬ
To say that someone died would you say...
tanaka-san ni shinimashita/shinda
or
tanaka-san o shinimashita/shinda?

In addition to the comment of Ryoko-san(It should be written on the answers box), I'd like to say below.
When the affair is new, we say "Tanaka-san ga shinda/shinimashita! (Hei! Mr.Tanaka died!)"

We say "(someone/subject) wa shinimashita" (with the formal form) or "(someone/subject) wa shinda (with the informal form).
*We use the particle は after the subject and it's pronounced わ.
