whoud it be correct to say that
I believe that it is more reasonable to try to understand all English accents but to speak with an English accent that you prefer. As for me I prefer The BBC English accent.

In my opnion, it's very useful to listen to lots of different accents as you learn, so that you have more experience understanding the different people you will meet.
Listen to native speakers to learn how to pronounce things, of course.
But personally I think communicating effectively and speaking well is more important than trying to sound British or American in particular.

As someone who mostly pronounces English as "BBC English", I would concur! :) Thus, I would say I speak Standard English with a BBC English-like accent.
However, I'm confused as to what your question actually is?
