It would depend on the specific university or college. They can mean the same thing or something different.
Usually "major" refers to your primary course of study, which has a minimum number of courses required to get a degree. "Specialization" generally is a focus within the major, maybe requiring a specific number of courses or maybe not.
So I'd say I have a major in business with a specialization in marketing. So your sentence is correct.
