죽여버리겠어 - why "여" not "어"
I recently saw a moie when someone said 죽여버리겠어
I know the grammar 아/어/여 버리다 but I thought 여 is only connected with 하다 to make "해".
Why is there 여 after verb? I thought it should be "죽어버리겠어"
Thank you in advance for helping

The verb is 죽이다 to kill.
So..following the pattern it is: 죽이 + 어 + 버리다= 죽이어 버리다
The 이 and 어 contract to make 여... Therefore, 죽여 버리다 is correct.

Those are different meanings. 죽여버리겠다 means that I will kill you
죽어 버리겠다 means I will kill myself.
