Please help me understand this word combination :)
Context:
Suddenly her phone rang. Juliet breathed put calming down. Nobody should know where she was.
I mean why the verb "put" is used here?
If I say "She breathed calming down, will it be correct?

Something is wrong here. It makes no sense.
Might it be 'Juliet breathed out, calming down.' ?
It's very easy to mistype a 'p' for an 'o'.

Juliet breathed put calming down - this is wrong and doesn't make any sense. The word 'put' does not belong here. You can say 'she breathed calmly', 'she breathed slowly, calming down', 'she breathed slowly to calm down' etc. It depends on the exact sentiment you want to describe.
