How do you translate stroke?
I'm going crazy trying to translate the word stroke in Spanish, since there are many definitions. Can anyone help me? And by the way.....if you know French....how do you translate it too?
Thanks

Hello, in Uruguay we call it : accidente cerebro vascular (ACV),and also we use the same English word, stroke.
El ACV (accidente cerebro vascular) puede ser isquémico o hemorrágico.
También se le puede decir ictus ,o apoplejía.
I hope this is what you wanted to know.

In Spanish, I would translate it as "golpe"
and "coup" (French).
Do you agree?

I tink that it depends on context. If you are talking about diseases, the correct translations would be
apoplejía
derrame cerebral
You can check it on wordreference.com for more translations.
