Could anyone tell me how to distinguish the words 'deadly, fatal, lethal'?

Deadly - COULD cause death
Lethal - COULD cause death OR serious damage/injury
Fatal - WILL cause death (if the fatal event happens)

They are all synonyms, so they mean the same things! ^^
