¡Se me da fatal el español!
A very common way to say that you're good / bad at something is
"Se me da bien / mal (or genial / fatal, etc.) ..."
Por ejemplo:
Se me da bien el baloncesto.
Se me da mal dibujar.

Yo diría: Soy malo en el español / Apesto en el español / No soy bueno en el español.
Pero depende del país o región de donde vivas.
