In many cases, these words may be interchangeable.
'Provide' can simply mean 'give'. You can provide anything - not only things, but also help, warmth, comfort and friendship.
'Supply' suggests that there is an agreement between the party that needs certain things - food, money, fuel, medication - and the party which provides them. This may be a long-term arrangement, with one party supplying something to the other regularly, or for as long or as often as required. 'Supply' is a term used in business and economics.
