I execute without pardon???
It was the sovereign with his 304 men. The knights immediately informed them that there was a conspiracy. The king took a good look at everyone, and grew red in the face.
“I want them all imprisoned! Tomorrow, we will execute the traitors.”
“You have no right to imprison and execute,” shouted Caius desperately. “We have the right to a lawyer, a trial and an habeas corpus, or something like that. I saw it on the telly.”
“What is this lawyer nonsense? Did the sorcerer bring you here?”
“No, it was much worse than that,” added the boy.
“I… I am the law. I… I execute without pardon. I…”
I would like to know what does "without pardon" mean here . Thanks.
