1 I wonder if there is any interesting theater I could go to while I'm in Shang hai.
2 I wonder if there are any interesting theaters I could go to while I'm in Shang hai.

The second statement is correct the sentence is more fluid when speaking about theatres in plural rather than as a single object therefore statement 2 "I wonder if there are any interesting theatres I could go to in Shanghi" is correct. If you want to say about going to a specific theatre you would say "I wonder if there is an interesting theatre I could go to while I am in Shanghi" Also be wary of your spelling of theatre
