How do you say gig in French?
I'm a freelance musician, and I play gigs often. It's a bit different from a concert or recital, though those can be considered gigs. If I was playing for a wedding, background music in a restaurant or for an event, would refer to those as gigs, not concerts. Its formally defined as a job for a specified period of time, especially an entertainer's engagement. Thanks for your help!

un spectacle ou une performance. Concert is not right, too formal.
