What is the difference between using から and んです to answer a question or give explanation? For example is it interchangable to say: 「どうして来ませんでした?」 「病気ですから。」 or 「病気んです。」(病気のです。) What is the difference or am I completely mistaken?

「病気ですから」and「病気なんです」(病気なのです) からmeans "because" and 病気なpuls んです means "someone is sick" Other examples of「病気なんです」are 「きれいなんです」「好きなんです」
