Why are you learning Russians? :)

I'm learning Russian because it's awesome!
More specifically:
A) It sounds pretty,
B) the literature is spectacular,
C) it opens up half a planet's worth of history that is STILL usually mostly ignored on my side of the Iron Curtain, and
D) Its grammar is more different from English and Portuguese than any other widely spoke European language, which to me is a lot of fun!
The number of Russian models I run into in LA didn't really factor into the decision, but is certainly an interesting side benefit :)

I absolutely agree with your A,B and C; but I have another reason as well:
I was born in Russia, so I can understand the language perfectly, but my speech degraded over the years I've spend living in Israel. That means i can't speak at the same level, which sucks soooo much!!! I CAN TAKE IT NO MORE! :)
