English: worthy of vs. worth Can anyone tell me, of the following ABCDEF, which one is correct and which one is wrong? Try to spend your time just on the things you find ____ A:worth doing them  B:worth doing C: worth being done  D:worthy of doing E:worthy of doing them  F:worthy of being done  Thanks.

"Worth" and "worthy" have similar meanings, but "worthy" is used more with people: "His act is worthy of praise." Therefore, B sounds better than D to me, but the grammar is hard to explain.

OK a personal opinion here with no grammatical explanation...just the native speakers gut instinct! B - correct D- correct I'm not saying that the others are definitely incorrect (apart from A) but would be interested in hearing the grammatical explanation of each from a self confessed grammar geek :)
