Rent check What does it mean "rent check?"

There are several possible interpretations; without context I would guess it means the following: a check is a piece of paper that you use to instruct your bank to pay somebody from your account. The rent is the amount of money that you pay for the use of property that does not belong to you, for example for the right to live in an apartment that belongs to someone else. The rent check, would refer to the check used to pay the (usually monthly) rent money.
