a gut feeling (US)
Hi! Is a phrase "a gut feeling" popular in the US? If not, what would be an alternative for it?
Thank you!

Absolutely - I would say in every single English speaking country, "gut feeling" is used and understood.
You can also say that you "have a hunch" which means the same.

A "gut feeling" is perfectly correct and idiomatic in U.S. English.
It is slightly informal; a more formal word would be "intuition."
